Dear Friends,
Everyone has been touched by cancer in their lives. I have lost two grandparents to the disease. Thankfully, due to incredible research and innovation at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, my mother is a cancer survivor. The PMC is an annual fundraising bike-a-thon with a specific goal: to eradicate cancer.
POMG Bike Tours has been a sponsor of this two-day, 200-mile ride from Sturbridge, Ma., to Provincetown, Ma., for the past four years.
We are offering three weekend training tours in June and July to help TEAM POMG and other PMC participants (there were 2,500 riders last year) gradually prepare for the event. Please consider joining my parents and me on TEAM POMG to help eradicate cancer. Together we will win the fight and have fun doing it.
Sincerely,
Richard L. First
POMG Founder and Four-time PMC Rider
The Training Tours:
The tours have been designed to help prepare participants for the event which takes place August 3 - 4, 2003 (riders will still need to do extensive training on their own). The weekend rides begin six weeks before the PMC and occur every two weeks.
The training tours are structured in the same manner as all of our weekend tours (see general info) . The difference is that everyone rides the same route and the mileage is longer. The inns have been selected for their comfort, location, service and experience with bicycle groups. The routes are designed to challenge each rider and prepare you for the two-day PMC 200-mile ride.
